    Vagina Monologues Onstage!

“At first, women were a little shy,
    A little reluctant to talk.
But once they got going, you couldn’t stop them.
Women love to talk about their vaginas, they do.”

Indeed, Eve Ensler’s well-acclaimed play, The Vagina Monologues, has become a phenomenal hit and Cebu City’s homegrown theatrical talents have not let the opportunity pass them by.

On February 20, 2010, at 7:00 p.m., there will be a limited engagement (one show only) of this celebrated play at the Ayala Center Cebu Cinema 1 – Onstage!

The play is a benefit production in line with the tenth year anniversary celebration of the V-Day Campaign. V-Day is a worldwide campaign to stop violence against women.

Cebu City: A Next Wave City

Outsourcing has become a huge hit in the Philippines. In fact, the Philippines is a top outsourcing destination choice, with its business process outsourcing industry raking in $7 billion annual revenue.

One of President Arroyo’s five economic super regions is the Philippine Cyber Corridor. This project was established as an information and communication technology channel covering the major cities of the Philippines with BPOs. This aims to employ a million Filipino workers and to generate annual revenue of $13 billion by 2010. The Cyber Corridor lists 25 cities tagged as “Next Wave Cities.” Among the listed cities are: Clark, Subic, Cebu, Bacolod, Davao and Cagayan de Oro.

As part of her Cyber Corridor Tour, President Arroyo visited Cebu City’s Asiatown IT Park last February 3, 2009. The world-class IT hub is home to over 70 BPO locators. It employs roughly more than 23,000 individuals.

The President’s visit to Cebu City marked the fifth leg in her scheduled nationwide Cyber Corridor Tour.  She was accompanied by incumbent officials of the city and the province, including Gov. Gwen Garcia and Mayor Tommy Osmeña.

During her visit, President Arroyo praised Cebu City for bagging the top spot in the survey conducted by Global Services-Tholons. Cebu City ranked first on the Top 50 Emerging Global Outsourcing Destinations survey.
